I help my clients:

  • Decide what book to write first (or next)
  • Figure out what to include and what to leave out
  • Navigate the publishing process to produce a high-quality book
  • And choose the next steps that will help them use their books to
    their greatest advantage.

I’ve coached my clients to write memoirs, self-help, how-to, personal development, professional development, and other types of non-fiction books.

Using the same process I’ve used to write or ghostwrite more than a dozen books, I guide my clients to organize their thoughts and experiences for maximum impact.

I’ve also helped them use their books to do amazing things like:

  • Become professional speakers
  • Create and sell digital products.
  • Launch coaching and consulting programs.
  • Create and sell physical products.
  • And more.

I love working with clients like you, people who are so successful in many areas of life, but have gotten stuck when it comes to some of their most important author goals. I can help you become a successful author.

Through years of research, coaching, and training, I’ve discovered simple yet effective practices and tools that will help you break free of doubt, fear, procrastination, and self-sabotage.

When I was a kid, people would tease me and call me “Bookworm.” I took it as a compliment.

I’ve spent more than a decade helping people become successful authors. In that time, I’ve written or co-written more than a dozen books, but I didn’t come to writing and publishing easily.

After years spent focused on homeschooling my two brilliant, beautiful, big-hearted daughters, I went through a divorce. The end of a marriage is never fun, but figuring out how to earn a living after ten years at home was a big deal. And I didn’t want to return to corporate America.

I didn’t want to put on a suit every day, play office politics, or push products I didn’t believe in anymore.

I needed to earn an income, but I wanted a job I could enjoy.

I wanted to do something I could feel good about, something that would make a difference for the people I served, for me, and for my family.

For years, I’d studied literary fiction writing with some of the best authors and writing instructors in Southern California. They tore my work apart and taught me how to make it better. I won some awards, and I was published in respected publications.

I love words. I love writing. I love books.

But I’d always been told that it was next to impossible to make a living writing books. I heard it so much that I believed it.

It wasn’t until I got my first co-writing job, helping Top Chef star Antonia Lofaso write her first book, that I realized I loved helping other people become authors as much as I enjoyed writing my own work.

After that first writing gig, I took on more collaborative and ghostwriting assignments and added editing to my menu of services. (I’m in love with The Chicago Manual of Style, but not at the expense of the author’s voice.)

I had the pleasure of working on books that went on to have a major impact for the authors and their readers. I discovered that I loved helping other people become authors just as much as I loved writing my own books.

Friends and colleagues were constantly asking for help with their books, but they wanted to do the writing themselves. Besides, I could only edit, write, or co-write a few books each year.

My editing and writing services always included an element of coaching. I enjoyed that part of the process, and my clients benefited from it. As I learned more about coaching, I realized I could impact so many more people as an Author Coach.

I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed when you sit down to start page one of chapter one. Been there, done that.

And I know how it feels to write seventy pages and feel like you’ve written yourself into a corner and have nowhere to go. In my early writing days, I left too many half-completed books to die on the hard drive.

[/qode_elements_holder_item][/qode_elements_holder]
[qode_elements_holder number_of_columns=”one_column”][qode_elements_holder_item item_padding=”0px 0px 100px ” advanced_animations=”no” item_padding_600_768=”60px 0px 0px” item_padding_480_600=”60px 0px 0px” item_padding_480=”60px 0px 0px”]

I know the embarrassment you feel when people ask, “How’s the book coming?” You don’t have an answer, and just thinking about it makes the whole project seem impossible.

I understand the frustration of writing and publishing a book but not seeing the results you expected.

I can help you get over those obstacles. I’ve gotten my clients past those challenges many times, and my methods work.

While I still love writing and spend time creating my own content every day, I dedicate most of my time to coaching people to achieve their author goals, from writing books to turning those books into significant income and influence.

And I love doing it!
